Mexico City Shopping
I came to Mexico City with one suitcase and left with two! If you love vintage thrift and boutique shopping, CDMX is heaven. There are so many fun and cool stores that are dedicated to showcasing local artists work and designs. If you want to add a piece to your closet that is unique, funky, posh, and/or beautiful, I promise you will not struggle finding one here!
Here’s a breakdown of my favorite stores (a few you can skip) and what you can expect from each one!
Roma Norte
Vintage Thrift Stores in Roma Norte, Mexico City (CDMX)
Vintage Hoe (Heaven on Earth) - Not only do they have an incredible selection of well-curated vintage finds, but they also create their own one-of-a-kind designs by upcycling vintage clothing. What’s even better is they frequently update their inventory, so there’s always something new to discover. I left with a jacket they designed, and it’s easily one of my favorite pieces in my closet!
Goodbye Folk Vintage Boutique - Three stories of curated treasures! You can find anything from denim and leather jackets, the cutest comfy Ralph Lauren sets, graphic tees, and sportswear. A huge perk of this store? The massive men’s section - I could actually take my time shopping without Travis hovering and asking, “Are we almost done?” While some pieces felt a little overpriced, there were plenty of affordable gems too.
Note: There are other locations - this location is on Córdoba street.
Back to Life Vintage Clothing - Another great spot for vintage lovers! It had good vibes, friendly staff, and the prices were fair. They had a great selection for women’s clothing, and although the men’s selection was smaller, I did love the jackets they curated for mens - I wanted some for myself, but sadly they were too big for me.
Note: There is a smaller boutique a couple blocks from the main location.
Roma Vintage - A smaller shop, but I found some cool pieces tucked away here. Worth stopping by if you are in the area.
LOBO Vintage - Don’t let this tiny store fool you, there are some real treasures inside! My favorites being the fun leather race jackets and vintage designer bags at great prices.
Best Clothing Shops in Roma Norte, Mexico City (CDMX)
Cardon - This clothing store has some fun unique pieces. There is another location in La Condesa but I like the Roma Norte location better.
180 degree SHOP - A stylish boutique right across from Panadería Rosetta, so if you are waiting to get a table, you should check it out. I found an awesome handmade leather purse here that I absolutely love!
El Parián - A pretty indoor shopping strip with several different shops. Definitely worth exploring.
Proyecto República - A really cool clothing store filled with funky and trendy pieces. It leans on the expensive side, but it’s fun to browse and try one styles you might not typically go for.
Escalina - Such a unique little shop! The owner is incredibly sweet, and the store is stacked with vintage jewelry and sunglasses. The jewelry was my favorite - so fun to try on and admire. Prices are a bit high, but worth the visit.
Monsterrat Messeguer - A chic boutique with fun cowboy boots, leather jackets, and purses. I did feel like it was a little over priced but it was still fun to try on a few statement pieces.
Hi-BYE - I saw this store pop up a lot on my TikTok, so I had to check it out. I didn’t love it and it is quite small, but it does have some funky interesting pieces if that is what you are looking for.
Coolest Jewelry Stores in Roma Norte, Mexico City (CDMX)
ORFEBRE - This small shop is run by a mother and son and has a stunning collection of unique jewelry, including beautiful vintage pieces. While the mother handcrafts some of the designs, they also feature work from other local artists, I got a pair of stunning earrings made from a local artists that I am obsessed with!
Mecha Mancilla - Another cool jewelry store with a fun mix of styles. Whether you’re into bold statement pieces or more delicate designs, you’ll likely find something that catches your eye.
Markets in Roma Norte, Mexico City (CDMX)
Mercado Cibeles - This is a decent size outdoor market that is worth a visit. My favorite stand here was run by a woman selling vintage leather purses. She had a great selection that was reasonably priced.
Colima Local Market - Honestly, I didn’t love this market. It is small, with limited items to browse, and there so many bigger, more exciting markets around the city that are worth your time.
Juárez
Best Shops and Markets in Juárez, Mexico City (CDMX)
Mercado de Artesanías - The coolest market! If you are looking for silver jewelry, this is the place to go. The options feel endless, and it is so fun to wander through the stalls, admiring and trying on different pieces.
Xinú Perfumes Marsella - A truly beautiful experience from start to finish. Everything from the entrance to smelling the perfumes is immersive and special. It’s such a unique sensory journey that I highly recommend everyone trying.
Note: There are some other shops around Xinú Perfumes that are worth exploring.
La Condesa
Best Shopping in La Condesa, Mexico City (CDMX)
Proyecto Rufina Condesa - This is one of my favorite stores! The moment you walk in, you're greeted with a beautifully curated space - earthy tones, cozy music, and artfully arranged displays of home decor and cute clothing. On top of that, the prices are fair, my friend and I walked out with a bag full of goodies.
Note: There is a location in Roma Norte but the one in La Condesa is better!
VOID - Definitely a high-end boutique for both men and women, but definitely worth the browse! They also have a café upstairs called Café Parral which is cute and a fun spot to visit after shopping.
Aurelia Concept Store - A charming accessory store with purses, jewelry, belts, and even some clothing.
Note: La Condesa has so many cute shops along Amsterdam St. I highly recommend taking some time to stroll the area.
Polanco
I didn’t love shopping in Polanco. It’s more luxury and high-end, similar to an outdoor shopping mall with your typical high-end stores. With so many incredible and unique shops around Mexico City. I think there are far better places to explore.
That said, if you find yourself shopping in Polanco, here are two shops that I think are worth checking out.
IKAL - Unlike the typical high-end stores in the area, this shop stands out with its funky and eclectic selection of purses. They also have a variety style of clothes.
Lust Masaryk - My boyfriend had fun looking at this shop. It carries a great mix of unique hats, shoes, jackets, and more. Definitely worth a visit if you’re into stylish clothes and shoes.
